This site takes no ad money and runs no trackers. That's a deliberate choice, and reader support is what makes it sustainable.
Donations aren't open yet
There's no donation page to point you at right now, and we'd rather say so than park a button that goes nowhere. When it opens it'll be a hosted Buy Me a Coffee page — linked, never embedded, so no payment script ever runs here. In the meantime the free ways to help below are genuinely worth more.
Where support goes
Reader support covers the boring, real costs of running an independent site and the time it takes to keep it accurate:
- Hosting, the domain, and email — the actual bills.
- Time spent researching guides and verifying legislation against primary sources.
- Keeping the law & news tracker current as bills move — the least glamorous, most valuable work.
No amount is ever too small, and there's no membership wall — everything here stays free for everyone regardless.
Free ways to help that matter just as much
- Share a guide with someone who'd benefit. Word of mouth is how privacy-respecting sites grow without an ad budget.
- Subscribe by RSS so you catch tracker updates — your reader pulls them and we never see your address.
- Send corrections. Spot an error or an out-of-date step? Email info@preservingprivacy.com and let us know — accuracy is everything here.
- Support the EFF directly. They do the legal heavy lifting behind most of the wins we cover.
Buying gear anyway?
